Il Ritorno di Mary Poppins: ridare forma a un Mito è possibile?
Ci sono dei personaggi nella storia del Cinema che sono “ultraterreni”, nel senso che vivono in un limbo che si trova oltre la pellicola stessa: sono scolpiti nella memoria collettiva, nell’immaginario comune, tanto da diventare essi stessi mezzi espressivi che si rinnovano di epoca in epoca.
Pensiamo a Joker, a Pinocchio o a Willy Wonka. Tra questi, vi è senza dubbio Mary Poppins, che con il suo stile ha tratteggiato uno dei mille volti di Londra, accanto a Peter Pan o a Sherlock Holmes.
Per un attore, confrontarsi con queste “sculture” dell’immaginario è un’impresa ardua, che richiede grandi capacità di ridisegnare in un modo nuovo un personaggio che il pubblico conosce nel profondo. Quello di Emily Blunt in Mary Poppins Returns è un lavoro attoriale di altissimo livello: con una grazia e un portamento fuori dal comune, Emily Blunt dipinge una nuova Mary Poppins senza cancellarne l’essenza più pura, e le mille sfaccettature della sua complessa personalità.
Mary Poppins è (ovviamente) buona, ma nello stesso momento è una severa educatrice. È dolce e gentile, ma permalosa e vanesia. È aggraziata e delicata, ma impavida e irruenta quando occorre. È solare e allegra, ma su di lei si posano improvvise nuvole di malinconia come fa il cielo su Londra.
In ogni sguardo, in ogni movimento del polso, in ogni sorriso di giocondiana memoria, Emily Blunt riesce ad esprimere in camera l’enigmatico pensiero di Mary Poppins, vivido e inafferrabile come un sogno che non si riesce a ricordare.
Un’interpretazione eccelsa di un’attrice che evidentemente ha amato e studiato a fondo il personaggio, e ha accolto con umiltà il grande ruolo che si trovava ad affrontare.
