Seven: l’oscuro presagio di un’umanità dolente
Seven, l’ultimo grande Noir Metropolitano del Secolo Scorso. Era il 1995 quando il film di David Fincher uscí nelle sale, e a rivederlo oggi a distanza di anni sembra un sinistro presagio.
Perché quella città popolata da anime dannate, incuranti di ogni moto di compassione, perennemente battezzate da incessanti lacrime di pioggia, è un po’ quello che avvertiamo oggi, in questi anni di incertezza e di indicibile terrore.
È l’umanità del serial killer John Doe, angelo purificatore dei sette peccati Capitali che investono ogni uomo sulla Terra.
Mai in un film si era visto un assassino consegnarsi così docilmente alla polizia, in ginocchio con le mani alzate. Come scopriremo nel film, John Doe consegna ai poliziotti Mills e Somerset solamente l’ultimo atto del suo diabolico piano di morte, di cui egli stesso è parte.
Un terrorista al servizio di una causa morale più grande, un martire deviato che ci riporta a stragi e accadimenti degli ultimi anni. Nel girone infernale di Seven, spiccano come stelle ardenti le speranze di un’umanità migliore: un amore puro e dolce, le fondamenta di un’amicizia sincera, la compassione e la lealtà dei più anziani verso giovani figli.
La pioggia incessante di Se7en cade sui peccatori e sulle anime pie, rendendo sublime ogni sequenza. A questa innocenza che sopravvive in una città dolente, però, John Doe taglia la testa. Dà fuoco all’invidia, scatena l’ira e chiude il suo cerchio. Nei tempi a venire, non ci sarà spazio per l’innocenza.
Sí, Seven più di molti altri film ha in sè il germe di un oscuro presagio.
