La Bella Addormentata nel Bosco: quando la Disney era Arte Pittorica
Sembra assurdo pensarlo oggi, ma la Bella Addormentata nel Bosco quando uscí nel 1959 ebbe una fredda accoglienza nelle sale. Oggi è considerato una delle pietre miliari dei Classici prodotti da Walt Disney, ultimo dei film ad usare la tecnica delle tavole inchiostrate a mano. Avete un’idea di cosa significhi?
Significa che ogni fotogramma di questo film d’animazione, il cui stile tra l’altro è ispirato alle miniature dell’arte medievale, è dipinto a mano. Ogni singolo fotogramma. La Bella Addormentata nel bosco è una illustrazione vivente, diversa dai suoi predecessori (Biancaneve e Cenerentola) per volontà dello stesso Walt.
La figura di Malefica è un’icona del cinema, mentre Aurora ha i tratti delle dive del cinema degli anni cinquanta, in particolare Audrey Hepburn, mentre il Principe Filippo è ispirato a Filippo di Edimburgo.
Dopo la Bella Addormentata, Disney tornerà alle fiabe solamente nel 1989 con La Sirenetta, ma la Bella Addormentata nel bosco resta uno dei più incantevoli e romantici film di tutti i tempi.
Quella sospensione quando ogni abitante del reame viene addormentato affinché non si sappia del sonno di Aurora, è un preludio di morte che ha in se tutta la poesia delle grandi storie, e l’invidia di Malefica per essere stata esclusa dal Regno è umana fino all’inverosimile.
Il motivo per cui Malefica ha un legame speciale con Aurora verrà spiegato solamente nel 2017 da Disney con Maleficent. Noi preferiamo rimanere nel mistero di questo capolavoro ideato dallo stesso Walt. Per sempre.
